Epic New Blog Series: Friday's Fancies by Bree Brouwer of Geek My LifeWelcome to issue #2 of my epic new Friday series, “Friday’s Fancies.”

(In case you missed what this was all about, check out my introduction to the blog series post.)

I don’t have much for you this week, but what I do have is UH-MA-ZING.

Like Stan Lee meets female gaming minis meets The Oatmeal meets other stuff UH-MA-ZING.

Geek Business 101: How NOT to Do Public Relations the Microsoft Way by Bree Brouwer of Geek My LifeSometimes the most important lessons you’ll learn about life don’t come from what you should be doing, but what you SHOULDN’T be doing.

As a kid, you probably touched a hot burner and regretted it immediately. Or you stuck a wire hanger in an electrical socket like my little sister did when she was six and got zapped.

You live and you learn, right?

This concept is even more important for you geeks who own small businesses, hope you will someday, or even just shop at these places. (Wow, there are a lot of h‘s in that title.)

Anyway, I’m going to be honest with you:

I don’t feel like writing anything right now.

This week has been a hectic mix of housework to get the place ready to sell, figuring out some new freelance writing gigs, and laying out some of my career and personal goals in addition to the regular housewife-y chores like making sure the house is stocked with food, organizing times to hang out with friends, and tidying up.

Oh, and I’m pretty sure there was some spring cleaning in there, too.

Because of all this, I just haven’t had the time to invest in writing a proper blog post for you all. So instead, I’m going to leave you with this delightful video from Hannah Hart of My Drunk Kitchen.

I’ll be back next week. :)

Tot ziens until then.

Yesterday the Xbox One was revealed. Xbox One: Calm the Frak Down, People by Bree Brouwer of Geek My Life

Lots of pent-up emotions were also revealed right along with it.

I live tweeted during the event (my first live tweet experience!), and if one person wasn’t exploding in rapturous joy at every single little announcement and demonstration, another was raging about how stupid Microsoft was to integrate a bunch of other forms of entertainment instead of focusing on gaming alone.

Me? I just think people need to calm the frak down.
